Discover the art of hardanger (also known as whitework) embroidery, where counted and drawn-thread techniques are used on even-weave cloth to create beautiful geometric shapes.

The American Textile History Museum welcomes hundreds of new faces to the Museum each year through our Free “Super Saturday” events. These themed events feature fun and educational hands-on activities and demonstrations as well as free admission for the general public.
At our last “Super Saturday” on March 1, 2014, “Making Cool Stuff,” we were joined by Dug North and his amazing kinetic “automata” sculptures.
