American Textile History Museum Board of Trustees Officers Named for 2002 - 2003

 

LOWELL, Mass., June 5, 2002 — At a recent meeting of the Board of Trustees of the American Textile History Museum, five officers were elected to serve through May 7, 2003:

Edward B. Stevens, Chairman, Ames Textile Corporation, Lowell, Massachusetts, was re-elected Chairman; Atty. John H. Pearson, Jr., Pearson & Pearson, Lowell, Massachusetts was elected to the new position of 1st Vice Chairman; Hiram M. Samel, President, Merida Meridian, Inc., Boston, Massachusetts, was elected to the new position of 2nd Vice Chairman; Marguerite Church, Chaplin, Connecticut, was elected Secretary; and Kenneth J. McAvoy, Windham, New Hampshire, was elected Treasurer. Also, Michael J. Smith, who has served as the Museum’s Executive Director since January 2000, was elected to the new position of President/CEO of the Museum.

Two officers, whose terms have expired, will continue to serve as Trustees: former President of the Board Pauline Thayer Duke and former Secretary J. Craig Huff, Jr.

In addition, four Trustees concluded their Board service, and will continue their association with the Museum as Advisors: Cornelia Adams, Manchester, Massachusetts; Holly Buffinton, PNC Bank, New England, Boston, Massachusetts; Christopher W. Rogers, Nahant, Massachusetts; and Joseph Tratnyek, Sudbury, Massachusetts
No new Trustees were elected to the Board.
